J.T. METIER IS CHANGING THE WAY
BUSINESSES AND FACTORIES IMPROVE
THEIR QCDSM (Quality, Cost, Delivery,
Safety, and Morale).
IT IS A MATTER OF SURVIVAL ...
THIS ECONOMY WILL EAT YOU ALIVE unless your organization becomes
committed to eliminating operation waste (muri, mura, muda) through Lean
Manufacturing Principles and QCD / QCDSM improvements.
- Increasing number of company bankruptcies in January - November 2008
(14.6% up since last year in Japan)
- Increasing unemployment rate in the US in November 2008 (6.7% up since
October 2008)
- Increasing material cost and weak sales
- US foreclosure filings were more than doubled in the 2008 Q2 than 2007
Q2.
Many large companies have been trying to survive through slashing jobs, shifting
from large vehicle to small and fuel-efficient vehicle productions, and increasing
product price. However, this economic situation could be much more damaging to
most mid-size and smaller companies. Actually, it is a matter of survival. It is
important for your organization to make sure that production is performed in the
most efficient and profitable manner while avoiding unnecessary cost from injuries,
excessive inventories, downtime, and defects.
WHAT WE DO
Our forte is to help businesses and factories enhance profitability through
improving their QCD / QCDSM. We also specialize in providing hands-on training to
develop subject matter experts (SMEs) in your organization. After this intensive
knowledge transfer process, your organization will have a solid foundation and
culture of continuous improvements in all QCDSM aspects. Our customers:
- Enjoy financial gains through elimination and reduction of operation waste
(muri, mura, and muda) through lean manufacturing / lean production
applications.
- Create productive work places where every member of the organization
respects and protects each other through a proactive safety culture.
Our consultants have assisted various sizes of customers from a variety of
industries (automotive, electronics, medical, retail, office, bank, food, etc). You can

- TESTIMONIAL - " ... When faced with the difficult challenges that injuries
present, I was fortunate to have the skill and expertise of [J.T. Metier
Consultant]. He spent countless hours pointing out areas of risk that to him
were highly visible if equipped with “safety eyes”. Through his patience and
determination I began making the first steps in reducing our overall injuries
and reducing the severities by training team members and supervisors alike
in injury risk avoidance. Being involved in a tier one supplier of automobile
parts, these skills are put to use daily. I owe the success of our program to
the author of our Safety and Ergonomic Policy; [J.T. Metier Consultant]. Thank
you for your dedication" - Mr. Chuck Farris, Human Resources Assistant,
Certified Ergonomics Technician, Shiroki USA.

HOW TO PRONOUNCE "METIER"?
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Metier is pronounced as "mey-tyey", which means "a field
of work or other activity in which one has special ability or
training; forte" (from Dictionary.com).
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
We transfer our knowledge in order for your organization
to develop subject matter experts (SMEs) through
intensive hands-on training. We don't mind getting our
hands dirty to teach and train ("Genba" centered principle).
Otherwise, knowledge transfer would be incomplete or
often infeasible. We have even cleaned traffic mirrors and
exit signs with SMEs during 5S and forklift traffic safety
sessions!
Consultation and training cover various topics and
projects related to production control, FIFO inventory
management, lean manufacturing, general safety,
ergonomics, and supplier management. We create a
tailor-made plan that most suits each customer's needs.
You can find the details of our services on our Services
page.
We have bilingual capability (Japanese). We understand
both American and Japanese cultures.
We have a strong reputation for effectiveness based
upon our recognized skills and customers' visible
outcomes. Through applications of lean management
principles, we are capable of providing high quality
services at affordable pricing.
